Nuclear Spin: Spin Echo
In this work we investigate the process of refocusing spin magnetization by a pulse of resonant electromagnetic radiation. The amplitude of the envelope of the spin echo waveform was measured over a given time interval. This process was done by creating the spin echo within a solenoid system, connecting that to a quantum control and an oscilloscope to display the waveform. The quantum control was calibrated to have the system be maximally sensitive to observe the spin echo. It was found that the maximum amplitude of the spin echo waveform was at a set spectrometer frequency with no detuning factor. Next it was found that the waveform amplitude was a maximum when the preparation pulse amplitude was the same as the intervention pulse amplitude. The interesting part is that when adjusting the detuning factor there were much smaller peaks close to 500 Hz from the optimal detuning factor.
